The news this week that the former king of home video rental, Blockbuster Inc., had sided with Blu-ray Disc in the so-called blue-laser format war, reminded me of that old philosophy question about a tree falling in the woods. If Blockbuster picks Blu-ray Disc over HD DVD and no one is listening, does it really matter?

Today I had the good fortune to spend an hour talking to one of the more well-respected distributors of the custom installation industry, Curt Hayes of Capitol Sales. It was nice catching up on Capitol's recent history and new business developments.
