Canton's InCeiling 50 and 70 Loudspeakers

By RS Staff, September 30, 2008

Minneapolis, MN--Canton has introduced two new loudspeaker models designed for in-ceiling installation.

The Canton InCeiling 50 and InCeiling 70 are two-way free-air designs with pivoting 1-inch aluminum dome tweeters and 5-1/4- and 6-1/2-inch polypropylene woofers respectively. The pivoting tweeter allows the speaker's soundfield to be adjusted to suit the acoustics of the room.

According to Canton, the new in-ceiling speakers are designed for essentially invisible installation, and with paintable frames and grilles that can be modified for any decor. They are also designed to be simple to install, with gold-plated clamping-speaker terminals.

The InCeiling 50 has an overall diameter of eight inches and a mounting depth of 3-1/2 inches. It has a frequency range from 50 to 30,000 Hz, and is rated for amplifiers up to 100 watts. The InCeiling 50 is currently available at a suggested retail price of $400 per pair.

The InCeiling 70 has an overall diameter of 9-5/8 inches and a mounting depth of 1-1/4 inches. It has a frequency range from 45 to 30,000 Hz, and is rated for amplifiers up to 100 watts. The InCeiling 70 is currently available at a suggested retail price of $500 per pair.
