Seymour AV and Screen Excellence Join Forces

By RS Staff, August 24, 2010

U.S.-based Seymour AV and UK-based Screen Excellence, both innovators in acoustically transparent woven fabric projection screens, have founded a joint venture that combines the best of each company’s technology platforms, namely Seymour AV’s patent-pending electric retractable screens and Screen Excellence’s fixed-frame, in-ceiling and masking screens.

Called Seymour-Screen Excellence (SSE), the brand will serve high-end custom installers and specialty AV retailers in the U.S. and Canada. SSE will make its market debut at the 2010 CEDIA EXPO at Booth 711.

“SSE will benefit dealers by offering the most comprehensive range of woven acoustically transparent (AT) projection fabrics,” stated managing director Chris Seymour. “Pioneering surfaces like our Enlightor 4K (resolution beyond 4K and ISF certified), Center Stage XD (1.2 gain), and other more specialized fabrics for commercial-size screen applications (Enlightor Pro, Enlightor SB), enable SSE dealers to fulfill the requirements of the most demanding videophile applications whilst keeping the very best acoustic transparency at any price level.  Additionally, Infinite Black true velvet borders, superior black backing, and masking materials and elegant design support the unique performance of our exclusive fabrics.”

Available now from SSE is a wide assortment of electric retractable; traditional and curved fixed-frame; motorized in-ceiling and masking screens and control accessories, with additional masking options on tap for late fall. SSE plans to manufacture all products in Iowa by 2011.

“Seymour’s retractable on-ceiling and on-wall screen technologies beautifully complement ours,” Screen Excellence CEO Patrice Congard said. “Furthermore, manufacturing in the USA solves most transport issues instantly. Given this, we are confident that the Seymour-Screen Excellence brand will reach the top of the North American market.”

Interested dealers and independent sales representatives can reach Chris Seymour at 515.450.5694 or via email at chris@s-se.us.
