Legrand has launched the Nuvo P500 Player Portfolio soundbar.

Nuvo Player NV-P500

Legrand has launched the Nuvo P500 Player Portfolio soundbar, including the immediate availability of the software update, Version 4.1.2, required to use the new soundbar-subwoofer combo as part of the Player Portfolio home music system. The company said it has also begun accepting dealer orders for the P500, with deliveries starting this month.

Current Player Portfolio owners will automatically be notified that the 4.1.2 software is available for download from the Legrand website.

Nuvo NV-P500 SubwooferThe P500 Sound Bar’s 2.1 speaker system provides enhanced audio for TV and movies while doubling as a Nuvo Player for music and other audio streaming content via online services, home networks, or personal iOS or Android devices. The Player Portfolio supports Spotify, Pandora, iHeartRadio, Deezer, Sirius XM, and other popular streaming services.

“The P500 is an important piece in the evolution of our Player Portfolio line,” said Desirée Webster, senior marketing communications manager. “There has been a lot of anticipation building up to this point for us and our dealers. Our goal is to provide flexible home audio solutions for professional installers, and this new double-duty Player drives that point home.”

The P500’s eight-inch wireless subwoofer delivers deep low-frequency response. All listening experiences are customizable with four audio modes—movie, music, voice, and night mode.

A sleek industrial design with a metal grille, white backlit touchpanel, and a neatly hidden internal power supply make the P500 suited for installation below flat panel TVs.

The system is designed to provide easy and flexible control options, including its own remote control, the Nuvo Player app, and optional in-wall keypads. As part of the Nuvo Player Portfolio, it has integrated control via drivers for Control4, Crestron, RTI, URC, and KNX. The unit also features a built-in IR learning function, which enables control via third-party remotes sold with TVs and set top boxes.

The P500 can be installed in either an Ethernet or wireless (802.11 a.b.g.n. 2.4GHz or 5.1GHz) configuration and additional components can be connected to it via TOSLINK and analog line inputs.

The Nuvo P500 will be available this month for MSRP $899.
