MRI Fall Expo Attracts Northeast Dealers

MRI recently hosted dealers from across the Northeast for in-demand training sessions, new product demos, and a keynote speech from industry veteran Jeffrey Boccaccio at its 14th annual Fall Expo.

Hundreds of dealers came to the Sturbridge Host Hotel and Conference center for the opportunity to learn more about new products such as the Yamaha MusicCast straight from manufacturer trainers. Each year, MRI works to create a fresh training slate for the expo so new and experienced attendees can stay up to date on trends shaping the CE industry.

“As a dealer, we don’t always get the opportunity to go to the larger shows like CES or CEDIA, and the MRI Expo provides necessary trainings and the venue to get one-on-one time with manufacturers,” said Chris McDonald of Northeast Entertainment Inc. “I know many fellow dealers who believe they don’t have the time to attend these shows, but this expo is important enough to mark on your calendar and work around it.”

The expo also provides the unique opportunity to hear experts weigh in on some of the hot topics shaping the industry. This year, MRI hosted Jeffrey Boccaccio, president of DPL Labs and an experienced keynote speaker who specializes in HDMI. As a former integrator, engineer, and manufacturer, he shared several different perspectives on the challenges consumers and integrators face when it comes to HDMI interoperability.

“This has been one of the best shows I’ve ever participated in — there was a solid turnout and a great response from the audience because they were really eager to learn,” Boccaccio said. “I think almost every single person who sat in on the keynote came up to me afterwards with questions and interest in the challenges our industry is facing with HDMI interoperability.”

More than 50 leading manufacturers, including Sony, Epson, Samsung, Luxul, URC, Yamaha, 2GIG, Ubiquiti, and RTI shared their latest products and networked with customers in a personal setting.

“For the past three years the MRI Expo has allowed us to get our new products in front of at least three hundred people that we would not normally get to meet,” said Charlie Boornazian, sales manager at Epson. “It lets us put Epson in front of a whole new installation audience and has always been a positive experience for our team.”
