At ISE, SpeakerCraft from Core Brands debuted a major update to its multiroom audio software that adds streaming audio services, a new streamlined user interface, and a dynamic zone-grouping feature.

“SpeakerCraft’s new software refresh makes multiroom audio even easier for installers to configure, and simpler for homeowners to use,” Core Brands software product manager, Tom McKeon said. “The new features introduced in this software update truly make the platform more user-friendly than ever. And, as a free software update, it enables any existing SpeakerCraft MRA-664 system to easily upgrade to include them!”

The software’s new built-in streaming services include Spotify, TuneIn, Pandora and other popular internet radio services. These new services unlock a seventh source in the MRA-664 chassis that drives the multiroom ecosystem’s six zones of audio, expandable to 12 with a second chassis. Additionally, the dynamic zone-grouping feature allows family members to instantly group media zones on the fly, perfect for party mode or when the entertainment moves from room to room.

Launched in 2015 as a six-source, six-zone system, SpeakerCraft’s MRA664 is anchored by an ecosystem that includes two touchpanels and a wireless remote. The installation wizard enables configuring of the entire system—now seven sources and six zones—from a tablet or laptop. The SpeakerCraft app can be downloaded for free from the Apple App Store or Google Play to enable control from mobile devices.
