During a recent interview for a Residential Systems cover story, Plaehn was particularly impressive with his clear, detailed, nuanced vision of what he calls “the journey” that the industry is taking to the future. Here's what what else he had to say on the subject.
Stop and think about this for a moment: How much better would your decisions be if you knew today where the industry was headed in the future?
Based on conversations with multiple manufacturers with differing levels of commitment to the integration of a voice user interface in their systems, most showed little reserve and seemed quite bullish on the topic. Some are strongly encouraging integrators to quickly hop on the VUI jet, which they suggest is taking off.
Recently, while I was researching the growing sales of analog turntables, vinyl records, and analog two-channel systems, an integrator told me that he had to scramble when he realized he was not capitalizing on this “analog renaissance.”
