Russound XStream Now Compatible With URC Total Control

Russound’s XStream series of streaming audio models are now fully compatible with the URC Total Control premium home automation and control system.

Russound’s XStream series of streaming audio models are now fully compatible with the URC Total Control premium home automation and control system.

Russound Certified Installers and their customers have the option to add control of XStream streaming audio products to new or existing URC Total Control systems. Russound’s XStream lineup includes the XZone4 single-box/four-zone streaming solution, XSource streaming audio player, and the 70-volt XZone70V streaming mixer amplifier.

“One of our goals for XStream is to have it be compatible with the biggest names in control,” said Charlie Porritt, CEO, Russound. “Seamless integration of Russound XStream products with URC products gives our installers a lucrative new option when specifying our products for both new and existing whole-house audio systems.”

“Russound is, without a doubt, a market leader in whole-house audio, and one of the names we hear most often when our dealers ask for expanded compatibility with our products,” said Andre Lalande, director of corporate alliances and third-party development, URC. “With the availability of this new two-way module, we’re bringing one of the biggest names in custom installation into the URC fold.”

The XSource Streaming Audio Player is a scalable, multiuse streaming audio solution with a small form factor for integration with external amplifiers or whole-house receivers.

As a complete streaming audio solution for both residential and commercial applications, the XZone4 Four-Stream, Four-Zone Audio System is designed to offer Russound installers a single-box package with browser-based configuration with a smartphone, tablet, or laptop.

The XZone70V Streaming Audio Amplifier is a high-resolution digital audio streaming source that incorporates the company’s XStream technology to enable streaming audio content from the cloud, a local network, AirPlay-enabled devices, all from a single component. The 70V/100V amplifier uses advanced circuitry to provide up to 300 watts of power in a single 1U chassis.

“By employing an open architecture, we can design Russound electronics to be compatible with nearly any control product on the market, giving dealers the widest range of options when installing an XStream system,” Porritt said.
