SureCall Force5 is First VoLTE-Certified Cellular Booster

Company Received Testing and Certification from V-COMM for LTE and VoLTE March 20, 2017
Why This Matters

The result is a clearer call and more consistent signal when a user has VoLTE turned on.

SureCall, the cellular signal booster manufacturer, has received LTE and VoLTE certification from V-COMM, a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) testing and certification lab for wireless carriers, for its Force5 consumer booster.

The Force5, a self-contained, five-band, all carrier Voice/3G/4G LTE cellular signal booster, is the only consumer booster in the industry to be certified for VoLTE by an FCC testing facility, with the rest of SureCall’s in-building boosters being built to the same standard. The result is a clearer call and more consistent signal when a user has VoLTE turned on, according to the manufacturer.

“At SureCall, it’s been our mission to offer cost-effective signal amplification alternatives to complex active DAS solutions,” said Hongtao Zhan, CEO of SureCall. “With the Force5 being the first to meet certification standards for LTE and VoLTE and our other residential and commercial boosters being built to the same standard, there is now a method to future proof signal boosters as the rollout of VoLTE technology continues.”

The Force5 is an enterprise-level Voice/3G/4G LTE signal booster that has been implemented in numerous commercial and industrial buildings including, schools, hospitals, and residential complexes. It is built with high linearity to support up to 100 simultaneous callers and data users for coverage areas of 25,000 square feet or more.

The Force5 is scalable as multiple units can be deployed to cover areas upwards of 250,000 sq. ft. at a fraction of the cost of an active DAS solution, the company says. It boosts cellular, PCS, AWS, and LTE signals for all major carriers, including Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile.

The V-COMM test results showed excellent performance in Verizon’s 700 MHz Band 13 and AWS 2100 MHz Band 4, and AT&T’s 700 MHz Band 17. The testing included LTE Error Vector Magnitude (EVM), LTE data throughput, and VoLTE audio performance testing. VoLTE testing was performed over a wide range of received signal levels, with outside signal levels as low as -105 dBm RSRP, and results showed excellent performance for VoLTE service indoors with the booster.

EVM testing revealed excellent performance with a higher LTE data rate than any other booster on the market. Additionally at the time of the Force5’s certification, no other booster on the market had met VoLTE’s requirements for certification.

“With the Force5 being the first to meet certification standards for LTE and VoLTE and our other residential and commercial boosters being built to the same standard, there is now a method to future proof signal boosters as the rollout of VoLTE technology continues.”—Hongtao Zhan, CEO, SureCall
