Why I Wasn’t Surprised by Kaleidescape’s Demise

By Jason Griffing | August 29, 2016

The news of Kaleidescape’s imminent demise last week sent shockwaves through our industry.  Numerous articles have exhibited a level of emotion we don’t often see in home technology news. Surprisingly absent from the commentary, however, is that this news should have come as no surprise to anyone.

IoT Watch: A Closer Look at Smart Buttons

By Nicos Panteli | August 25, 2016

There’s no denying that humans simply love tactile buttons, and smart buttons attempt to cater to this fact. Stick one where you need it, then just reach out and press it. By Nicos Panteli | August 18, 2016

This is the first blog post in the partnership between my website Qioto and Residential Systems, in which we will be sharing blog posts following the "IoT Watch" theme. With these first posts, we will share some of our views on the systems integration market, the Internet of Things (IoT) for the home, and the smart home market in general. Providing some thoughts will hopefully connect us to the regular readers here on some level.

How Do You Find Common Ground with Clients?

By Todd Anthony Puma | August 16, 2016
