Wisdom Audio Adds Staff

Carson City, Nevada-based Wisdom Audio has appointed of Luc Guillaume to the newly created position of chief business development officer and Patrick Turnmire to senior transducer and systems designer. Both will are expected to help develop new products for the manufacturer of high-end planar magnetic transducers for architectural speakers.

Guillaume will be based out of their new Wisdom Audio Europe BV office in the Netherlands. He holds degrees in economics and audio engineering and entered the audio industry in 1994 as an assistant recording engineer at River Sound Recording in New York. He spent six years on the recording side before becoming involved in the introduction and position of the JBL Synthesis product range outside of the U.S. After a seven-year run at JBL, Guillaume worked as VP of sales of Screen Research before joining Switzerland-based integrator SmartHome, ultimately becoming its CEO.

Turnmire joins the engineering team as senior transducer and systems designer. An active musician, he studied jazz at North Texas State before beginning his 32-year career as a transducer and systems engineer. For the last 27 years, Turnmire has been the principal of Redrock Acoustics, an engineering firm responsible for the design of over 1,600 loudspeakers, overseeing all development aspects from conception to manufacturing. His accomplishments include the creation of transducer design software which is now the standard tool for the industry. He has co-authored more than 12 patents, owns and operates a complete transducer engineering and measurement lab, and is an expert user of virtually all loudspeaker testing and engineering software including: Klippel, LSPCad, Finecone, Fine Motor, LEAP, LMS, and MLSSA. After a period of consulting for Wisdom Audio, Patrick's first major contribution was collaborating on the design of the Insight Series in-wall models.

Because of his vast knowledge and management experience he will aid us with our long-term plans, achievable goals and execution strategies," said Wisdom Audio president Mark Glazier.

"Patrick brings a rare combination of a strong and accomplished creative design pedigree combined with the ear of a critical musician.
