IDEAL Develops Next-Gen LanTEK III Certifier

IDEAL Networks has developed the next evolution of its LanTEK cable certifier that makes it easier, faster, and more cost-effective for users to build cabling networks.

IDEAL Networks has developed the next evolution of its LanTEK cable certifier that makes it easier, faster, and more cost-effective for users to build cabling networks that meet existing TIA and ISO/IEC performance requirements up to CAT7A.

The IDEAL LanTEK III cable certifier features troubleshooting capabilities and reduces time spent pinpointing problems such as hidden connections, splices, and faults, according to the company. By incorporating Time Domain Return Loss (TDRL) and Time Domain Near End Crosstalk (TDX), the LanTEK III allows field technicians to locate issues in seconds rather than hours, accelerating the certification process. TDRL and TDX convert confusing frequency graphs into easy-to-read plots that clearly show the exact distance to the fault, allowing for quick repair of the link.

“Cabling installers looking to gain a competitive advantage will find it in the LanTEK III certifier,” said Dan Payerle, business unit manager at IDEAL Networks. “The adoption of new TDRL and TDX technology enables it to deliver a higher level of reliability and operational simplicity. It does the heavy lifting of extensive cabling testing so that the installer can move onto the next job faster.”

The LanTEK III’s troubleshooting is complemented by IDEAL DataCENTER result management software that helps ensure every job is performed correctly. DataCENTER tracks progress with fast downloading, managing, analysis, editing, and printing of professional reports in PDF format. Once completed, test results can be sent via a mobile device using the free IDEAL AnyWARE app, enabling field technicians to share test data with co-workers without leaving the jobsite or transporting testers.

Existing customers can trade in Cat-5 or higher cable certifiers for the new LanTEK III-500 or LanTEK III-1000 models. To mark the launch, IDEAL Networks is giving away a free iPad Mini 4 or Samsung Galaxy Tablet S8.4 with every purchase of LanTEK III until March 31, 2016.
