HomeTronics’ $1.5M System Featured in Neiman Marcus 2013 Christmas Book

The custom integration channel wouldn’t be the same if it weren’t for the periodic flashes of “flash” involving creative applications of high-end audio products, residential video walls, and intuitively designed integrated control systems in mansion-style homes.
I saw many examples of these big-budget designs during my 45-minute “set” as MC of CEDIA’s Electronic Lifestyle technical awards last month in Denver, and I recently learned about another amazingly ambitious concept from industry friend Greg Margolis, president of HomeTronics, in Dallas, who told me that he’d inked a deal with Neiman Marcus to have a HomeTronics-designed outdoor entertainment package featured as one of eight “fantasy gifts” in the high-end retailer’s legendary Christmas Book for 2013.

HomeTronics’ outdoor concept was selected back in April (out of 45 vendors) to not only be one of eight featured fantasy gifts, but also as the coveted “His & Hers” gift item of the year. The catalog was released this week, revealing the $1.5M outdoor entertainment system based around the 201-inch C Seed 201 Porsche Design LED TV and a custom on-board and external landscape CAT (California Audio Technology) audio package that hides underground until you’re ready to use it. Bundled with pro-quality amplifiers from BGW and Crown, a Kaleidescape DVD/Blu-ray Management System, a Datasat surround processor, and iPad mini control from Savant, this is truly an ultimate outdoor system and another badge of honor for the custom integration trade.

. For each gift in the fantasy section of the catalog, a donation will be made to The Heart of Neiman Marcus Foundation. See all the gifts in the famous Christmas Book here

OK KUDOS to the CAT and Hometronics team on this one. Proving once again that thinking outside the box and not getting into the race to the cheapest is the only way to go. Greg, Bryan and the CAT team have always reached beyond the norm and this is plan cool as hell.
My only question is how to I get a loaner demo system! Great job everybody and this is the kind of innovation that is what CEDIA should be about. Sure people will chime in about price. So what the proof is there are clients for this caliber of design and performance.
