HTSA Sets Plan for Chicago Fall Conference

The buying group Home Technology Specialists of America (HTSA) will hold its 2016 Fall Conference October 18-20, 2016 at the Westin Michigan Avenue in Chicago, winding down its 20th anniversary year.

The buying group Home Technology Specialists of America (HTSA) will hold its 2016 Fall Conference October 18-20, 2016 at the Westin Michigan Avenue in Chicago, winding down its 20th anniversary year.

The event will kick off with special “members-only” segments on Tuesday, including a “State of the Union” from executive director Jon Robbins and “The Art of the Demo” with Mark Goldman of Sound Components. Goldman’s Masterclass, which received positive reviews in previous incarnations, returns for HTSA members who may have missed it or who want to relive the educational experience.

HTSA also has expanded its popular Group Discussion Sessions on Wednesday to cover business, technology, training, and industry trends, with sessions on job costing, leveraging streaming audio services, networking, and IT training.

Opportunities for one-on-one connections between its members and vendor partners also have been expanded for attendees. No matter the size of their integration firm, all HTSA members are afforded personal meetings with the manufacturers whose brands they specify—a chance to make suggestions, gain additional product knowledge, and forge relationships.

The VendorFest gives HTSA attendees access to the newest AV products and smart-home solutions, with live demos, and knowledgeable company representatives available to answer specific questions and listen to dealer feedback in an intimate setting.

Off-site dinners planned at the legendary Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse and Harry Caray’s newest Magnificent Mile location give attendees the chance to step out of the hotel and into two of the city’s top culinary landmarks while getting to know other vendors and members in a more relaxed setting.

With 20 years under its belt, HTSA understands what goes into putting on an exemplary conference, and provides a blend of products, people, and ideas, all driven by the passion and energy of its members.

“Twenty years after its founding, HTSA continues to provide the best educational and information-sharing vehicle in this very unique custom electronics space,” Robbins said. “Much has changed—from the technologies to the business models in the custom integration industry—but our membership’s philosophy of mutual support and our dedication to seeing all our members share ideas to create innovative blueprints for success, remains.”
