Beale Street Audio officially launched at CEDIA EXPO 2014, and if you were there, you couldn’t miss the faux old-fashioned light posts that were used for displays and signage. According to the company, its first appearance at CEDIA exceeded its expectations.

Beale Street Audio, which is an extension of a 95-year-old multi million-dollar company with a fifty-year history in the audio business, premiered at the show with 20×50-foot booth that was designed to look like an actual street similar to Beale Street in Memphis, TN, where the company is based. The products that the company showcased will begin to ship in mid-November with an initial offering of 17 speaker models, two amps, and several accessories. Most speakers will be powered by the patented Sonic Vortex technology that is meant to provide more bass from a small, integrated enclosure.

“We are keeping it real in every way possible. Regarding product releases, we are not going to go down the path that some other companies have done and announce a huge amount of products, then not ship them for a year,” stated Jim Murray, managing director and founder of Beale Street Audio. “We have more products coming in Q1, several more exciting technology announcements, and some significant personnel additions coming soon.”

During CEDIA EXPO, Beale Street Audio also held a contest to win a Gibson 335 guitar, which drew more than 80 entries. Dealers were recorded on video for 30-60 seconds playing their most impressive riffs. To win the guitar, three judges that are accomplished guitarists from the AV industry will view all of the videos and choose the winner. The videos are currently being edited and viewed, and the company plans to announce the winner within a couple weeks.

In addition to the guitar award, Beale Street Audio will be giving away $1,500 of products to one of the top four or five runner-up guitarists. The top videos will be posted online and a link will be sent to the people that visited the Beale Street Audio booth as well as those who see us on Facebook. The person with the video with the most Likes/Votes will win the Beale Street Audio products. This contest will commence once the guitar winner is announced.

“We could not have asked for much more. The traffic was excellent, our booth had a fun, welcoming environment, our guests got to experience our Sonic Vortex technology, and we are already signing dealers,” stated Mark Cichowski, executive director of the company.
