Planar’s PD8130 and PD8150 1080p Projectors

Beaverton, OR — Planar Systems Inc. is expanding its arsenal of high-performance video display solutions as the PD8130 and PD8150 1080p single-chip projectors bring a new level of performance and design elements yet available at its price point.

Designed exclusively for the specialty home theater market, Planars newest projectors set new precedent for the top-quality and versatility that custom integrators and their customers can now demand of HD video displays. The PD8130 and PD8150 are evidence to the types of inspiring products we intend to deliver.

Planars new PD8150 and PD8130 projectors have a myriad of options for an uncompromised high-definition picture experience in the home. Each model offers high-end features and performance to deliver an authentic home theater experience that belies the projectors affordable price points. Aesthetically stunning, Planars PD8150 and PD8130 feature an amazing high-gloss, piano-black finish and unique industrially designed chassis. The 1080p DLP projectors offer generous horizontal and vertical lens shift and integration connectivity. Dynamic Black and BrilliantColor image enhancement and Planars proprietary video processing provide a full range of the DMD to achieve exceptional contrast, detail and rich imagery, truly setting the bar for 1080p performance.

Both projectors offer a suite of calibration tools for optimal performance in all rooms and lighting conditions. Features include ISF (Imaging Science Foundation) day and night calibration memory settings, individual sharpness and noise reduction controls, programmable image memory selection keys, built-in test patterns and a dark room-optimized remote.

The PD8150 provides 1,000 max video lumens of brightness and a 15,000:1 contrast ratio. Rounding out the offering are integration-caliber performance and connectivity, including HDMI 1.3a with up to 12-bit Deep Color. Built upon the same platform as the PD8150, the Planar PD8130 offers the same impressive proprietary design and features, with a 10:000:1 contrast at 1,000 max video lumens and advanced connectivity, including multiple HDMI andcomponent inputs.

Now shipping, the PD8150 has an MSRP of $7,999, the PD8130 has an MSRP of $5,999.
