Elite Screens has launched the Starling brand electric projection screen as a more refined option for CE retail sales. “There are so many preferences regarding projection screens and the Starling answers the call for simply better quality in retail electric projection screens,” said Dave Rodgers, marketing manager of Elite Screens. “We make basic units for mass sales, and we have high-end dedicated custom products; it’s time we had a great design for the CE retail buyers who want a little more.”

The Starling Series is a beautifully designed retractable electric projection screen. Its gloss white or black casing features a streamlined arcuate profile that blends with most forms of interior décor. It comes with installation brackets for either wall or ceiling installations.
Elite’s Spectra White FG material is used for the Starling Series. It is a 1.1 gain matte white surface with black backing to eliminate light penetration. It also has fiberglass reinforcements for enhanced flatness. In addition to its wide diffusion uniformity, the material is matted on all sides to enhance perceived visual contrast and has an extended top border for high-ceiling installations. The material is raised and lowered using a quiet and power-saving 110-volt 38-watt synchronous motor that turns at 10-15rpm with overheat protection.
The Starling electric projection screen ships fully assembled with an attached in-line (three-position) up/stop/down control box on the 110-volt power cord. Infrared and radio frequency controls also included.
Elite Screens’ Starling projection screen has a starting price at $299 and will now be available in a range of sizes including 100-inches, 120-inches, and 135-inches in 16:9 HDTV format through the retail sales channel. It comes with Elite’s two-year manufacturer’s warranty and a three-year ENR-G warranty for educational, non-profit, religious and government/military organizations.
