Industry Veteran, GoldenEar Sales Director John Miller Dies at 62

GoldenEar has shared the passing of friend and colleague, John Miller.

It was with great sadness and a tremendous sense of loss that GoldenEar has shared the passing of friend and colleague, John Miller. He was 62. His death was a very sudden event and the details are still forthcoming. According to GoldenEar, Miller was browsing antique JBL speakers, which he enjoyed and collected. He was descending the steps into a basement when he collapsed. The company received word yesterday evening and has reacted with shock since.

John Miller joined the company in 1990, when he was hired as VP of Sales at Definitive Technology in its early days. He was instrumental in building the company and contributed tremendously to its success. After Miller left Definitive, he became president of Legacy Audio, then started his own company, Miller Sales, and later joined Velodyne as he continued to explore the consumer electronics industry, which he loved, and make major contributions to everyone with whom he was associated.

During the preparations for the launch of GoldenEar, Miller approached CEO Sandy Gross, as he had in 1990, who happily hired him again, as regional director of sales. Miller made tremendous contributions and was an integral part of the company’s growth and success.

John Miller is remembered as remaining always positive, and that conversations with him were always enjoyable and stimulating. In 2015 Miller was inducted into CE ProMasters, a great honor that many industry stalwarts were responsible for and for which he took great pride. GoldenEar invites those who knew John Miller to join them in their prayers for his widow, Annette, and son, Jacob.
