Builder to Install Clare Systems in Nine New AZ Developments

AV Homes is bringing smart home technology to nine new active adult 55-Plus and traditional developments in the Phoenix metro area through a strategic partnership with Clare Controls.

National builder AV Homes is bringing smart home technology to nine new active adult 55-Plus and traditional developments in the Phoenix metro area through a strategic partnership with Clare Controls. AV Homes is outfitting all new homes with a Clare basic package that enables every homeowner to control HVAC, lighting, and front door lock. Clare offers simplicity and flexibility, giving buyers the opportunity to incorporate smart home technology into their new home during construction as easily as cabinets and countertops. As an added benefit, homeowners have the ability to add to their systems after occupancy as their needs evolve.

“A lot of factors go into designing a home including location, features, accessibility, amenities, and ultimately the homeowner’s wellbeing,” said Ken Kulinowski, VP of purchasing, AV Homes, Inc. “Today, as the ability to control various aspects of a home is becoming readily available, we are embracing smart home technology and are installing it as a part of our standard package in our new developments. We looked for a system that was flexible and would be easy to use by residents of our active adult 55-Plus developments, as well as the younger generation. That is how we came to choose Clare. We loved the simplicity of the Clare system as it is extremely user-friendly and offers the capability to add more technology and features as the homeowner settles into their home and lifestyles change. This is a great benefit of the solution.”

The base package includes a Honeywell Wi-Fi thermostat to control heating and cooling, two light switches, and a front door lock that can be controlled from a mobile device. For homeowners who want to expand their capabilities, upgrade smart home packages include common area and master suite lighting, enhanced safety and security featuring network video recorder and CCTV cameras, and entertainment packages including in-ceiling speakers and a wireless streaming music amp. For those looking for single upgrades, AV Homes also makes a la carte items available such as lighting control and a garage door opener.

“The partnership with AV Homes Arizona Division affirms Clare’s position as the smart home leader for the building community,” said Brian Dietsch, vice president business development, Clare Controls. “We give our builder partners the products, tools, and resources they need to incorporate smart home technology seamlessly into their projects. Our Smart Home Sales Kiosk helps demonstrate the benefits for AV Homes’ customers, allowing them to see, experience, and select the Clare Controls packages that best fit their lifestyle.”

Construction of the new homes begins this summer.
