The DaVinci Group’s (TDG) CEO and co-founder Daniel Kippycash passed away suddenly on April 3 after a brief medical event at the Littleton Adventist Hospital in Littleton, CO.

“All of us at The DaVinci Group are shocked and saddened by Dan’s untimely passing,” said Jeff Francisco, president of TDG. “His vision and strategic clarity have been the foundation upon which this company was built, and we will miss his ongoing insight and guidance.”

Kippycash founded TDG in December 2012 along with chief technology officer Alex Chiou. Founding the company was Kippycash’s dream, he said, because it represented the culmination of a series of entrepreneurial ventures, the lessons of which were all applied to TDG.

Unbeknownst to many, Kippycash had struggled with great personal and physical challenges as a result of his lifelong battle with diabetes, a condition he concealed through his upbeat and positive demeanor. Kippycash and his wife Connie had been longtime contributors to charitable causes, including Alex’s Lemonade Stand, a charity they became involved with in support of a niece they lost to cancer.

As a result of Kippycash’s chronic medical issues, company management had developed a strategic transition plan, which Kippycash was instrumental in helping to create. In accordance with these plans, Jeff Francisco, president of TDG, will immediately assume all responsibilities of chief executive officer. Day-to-day operations have been absorbed by existing staff and no service interruptions are anticipated.

Kippycash was born October 21, 1966 and passed away April 3, 2016 at just 49 years of age. Most in the tech industry first came to know him during his time at Crestron as director of business development. In 2000, he was a founding partner in Xplore Solutions, an IP-based automation control system manufacturer. In 2005, he was a founding partner in The Momentum Group, a concierge technology company targeted at the MDU market. In 2010, Kippycash became the product manager for the Nirv automation system at SpeakerCraft, the company where he became associated with colleagues Alex Chiou and Jeff Francisco.

The Kippycash family is in the process of planning the final arrangements and the company will provide more details if and when appropriate.
