DVDO Transitions Back to Private Ownership

DVDO Inc., provider of ultra high-definition (UHD) video processing, switching, and connectivity solutions, is making a strategic transition to form a private entity owned and managed by CEO Doug Fealtman.

DVDO Inc., provider of ultra high-definition (UHD) video processing, switching, and connectivity solutions, is making a strategic transition to form a private entity owned and managed by CEO Doug Fealtman.

DVDO said that is committed to its existing portfolio of wired and wireless video products, while also focusing on the development of solutions to address emerging technology areas such as 4K UHD, high dynamic range (HDR), over the top (OTT), virtual reality, and home automation.

“Over the past two decades, DVDO has been delivering solutions that address the requirements of professional installers and prosumer home theater enthusiasts,” Fealtman said. “We will continue to leverage our CE and professional channel to support our customer base. Now, with a renewed sense of vigor and nimbleness of a private entity, we are in a stronger position to quickly and adeptly meet the expanding market needs of UHDTV, CE/IT convergence, virtual reality, and home automation.”

Anchor Bay Technologies was started by the former founding team of DVDO Inc., the original creators of the first DVDO iScan Plus Progressive Scan Display Interface, which made its mark in the home theater video line doubler market. When Silicon Image Inc. acquired DVDO in 2000, the brand continued to grow, with the help of the original team. In April 2003, Anchor Bay Technologies reacquired the DVDO brand and product line from Silicon Image.
