Legrand Expands Connectivity Line to Drive Single-Brand Solutions

Legrand has introduced 11 new On-Q connectivity products, providing electrical and low-voltage professionals in the residential or light commercial market with a complete single-source solution.

Legrand has introduced 11 new On-Q connectivity products, providing electrical and low-voltage professionals in the residential or light commercial market with a complete single-source solution. The company added that more than 25 high-volume SKUs. The line will now be available in convenient, re-sealable contractor packs, with a 20-year warranty on products used as part of a qualified On-Q system.

Legrand has introduced 11 new On-Q connectivity products, providing electrical and low-voltage professionals in the residential or light commercial market with a complete single-source solution.
“These additions to our product lineup fill in some key gaps for us and significantly improve our competitive position in the light commercial marketplace,” said Fritz Werder, VP and general manager for the company’s On-Q and NuVo lines. “We expect that these products, combined with the new packaging options and improved support, will make Legrand an even moreattractive turnkey solution for our distribution partners.”

According to Werder, the new products can be grouped into three categories: patch panels, keystone inserts, and mounting products.

Patch Panels

To provide configuration flexibility in a 19-inch rack mount space, two new patch panels, the 24-port WP24RM and the 48-port WP48RM, are now available. Both allow any On-Q keystone insert, including those being introduced today, to fit flush to the front panel for a secure fit and professional finish.

Keystone Inserts
Legrand is adding six new inserts to round out its line, all of which come in an assortment of colors and fit smoothly into On-Q faceplates and blank patch panels. These include: The LC (WP1210) and the LMT-RJ (WP1211) Multimode Fiber Keystone Coupler Inserts, both of which are female-to-female couplers that enable users to add fiber optic cable support to their structured wiring systems. For connecting mobile phones, media players, headphones, and infrared repeaters to their structured wiring systems, the company has introduced the 3.5mm female-to-female stereo audio coupler insert (WP1215). The USB A/A Keystone Coupler Insert (WP1220) allows the customization of patch panels or wall plates to fit a specific installation, while providing a finished look. Including connection for a USB 2.0 Type A cable in both the front and rear, it is also backwards compatible to USB v1.1 and will support data transfer rates of up to 480 Mbps.

Its counterpart for providing a USB Type A cable connection in the front and USB Type B in the rear is the USB A/B Keystone Adapter Insert (WP1221), which like the WP1220, is also backwards compatible to USB v1.1 and willalso support data transfer rates of up to 480 Mbps.

And the Quick Connect RJ25 6-Position, 6-Conductor Telephone Keystone Insert (WP3473) supports up to three telephone lines and accepts an RJ45 plug. It is part of the On-Q Quick Connect family of products designed to reduce installation time by as much as 30 percent. And in accordance with FCC guidelines, the WP3473 is Part 68 compliant.

Mounting Products
Three new mounting products complete the company’s new offerings, starting with the AC1902, a 19-inch-wide wall-mount bracket that is two rack mount spaces high, comes with two switch extenders to support mounting of active data networking products, and offers a hinged design that makes it uniquely capable of mounting in the corner of a room for maximum flexibility.

Two new surface mount boxes, the four-port WP3504 and the six-port WP3506, mount easily and quickly to walls using either double-sided tape or screws and support any On-Q keystone insert.

Contractor Packs
To make it easier for distributors to stock high-volume items in the company’s Quick Connect line, and to make it more convenient for installers to use on the jobsite, as many as 28 popular SKUs will be available in re-sealable contractor packs. While most contractor packs will come in quantities of 10 units each, some will also be available in packs of 50 or 100. Said Werder, “Some items just lend themselves to high-volume use, so we’re just trying to make purchasing and storage more convenient for all our partners.”

20-Year Warranty
Legrand’s new 20-year warranty covers its products when they are used within a qualified system. “It assures our end-user customers that they are getting a quality data infrastructure that will support their needs for many years,” said Werder. To qualify for the warranty, all system components must be purchased through, and registered by, an On-Q partner distributor.
