Live from ISE | Bang & Olufsen Highlights Intelligent Integration

Citing the rapid growth of ISE, Bang & Olufsen made its first appearance at the Amsterdam show to introduce the BeoLink Gateway hardware and software system for connected home entertainment and automation, as well as the BeoSystem 4 video engine, connecting any projection or flat-panel display.
 
The BeoSystem 4 video engine features support for 2D and 3D, a range of HDMI inputs, hybrid broadband TV (HbbTV), various picture formats (including CinemaScope A and B for projectors), B&Os VisionClear picture technology, and dedicated picture modes for film and gaming.

The BeoLink Gateway enables complete control via a single remote, touchscreen, or tablet, including B&O’s TVs and audio components, as well as third party devices, including room controls, lighting, and PTZ cameras, with live feedback via any of the video displays. A real-time configuration tool comes pre-installed with hundreds of drivers to remove the coding from home automation programming. BeoLink Gateway is anticipated to ship worldwide later this spring.
 
The BeoSystem 4 video engine features support for 2D and 3D, a range of HDMI inputs, hybrid broadband TV (HbbTV), various picture formats (including CinemaScope A and B for projectors), B&Os VisionClear picture technology, and dedicated picture modes for film and gaming.
A surround sound module boosts the processing power by 400 percent over previous generations, coordinating up to 12 channels in full surround. TrueImage technology handles up- and down-mixing of audio signals.
 
BeoSystem 4 was designed for installers to connect any component in a system, while the BeoLink Gateway serves as a bridge to home automation systems and devices. The BeoSystem 4 directly connects up to four devices. B&O remotes, Beo4 and Beo6, were designed to control the system, along with a BeoLink app for smartphones and tablets, and more dedicated control is available from the BeoRemote app.
B&O also announced a new dealer recruitment program for custom installers interested in opening a dedicated B&O retail store or establishing a close business relationship with B&O’s hundreds of retail partners.
