On-Q is Officially ‘Legrand,’ Joins AIN Group

Legrand, parent company of On-Q and Vantage, has launched a strategic branding initiative within the North American marketplace whereby On-Q/Legrand will simply be known as Legrand. In related news, the On-Q product line has been added to the product catalog for the AIN Group of dealers.

Regarding the rebranding, Legrand’s home systems division president Doug Fikse, said, “Our customers will now benefit from the increased development of Legrand as a trusted end-user brand in the U.S. marketplace, creating demand for our product offering throughout the home systems category.”

On-Q/Legrand will transition to the Legrand brand gradually over the next year and the On-Q name will ultimately remain as a product line under the Legrand brand.

All new products launched by the company beginning in September, including the new Unity Home System, will be branded as Legrand. Beginning in January 2010, Legrand will start to transition all On-Q products to the Legrand brand on a gradual basis. The expected transition time for the full conversion of all products is between two to five years.

In related news, Legrand will offer its On-Q product line in the categories of structured wiring components and accessories, intercom systems, and multi-room audio systems and accessories for the AIN Group, a GE Home Technologies Authorized Partner. This agreement is effective beginning January 1, 2010.

“AIN Group delivers a best-in-class product offering to their dealer network,” Fikse added. “We’re excited to partner with AIN Group to bring On-Q products to AIN dealers, and are committed to offering our full support to ensure a successful transition. This agreement reinforces Legrand’s position as a home technology industry leader by virtue of our addition to this premium suite of product offerings. “

In coordination with this announcement, GE Security will begin offering its Smart ConnectionCenter to AIN Group. This transition more closely aligns GE Security’s products with their core security business, and they have committed to ensuring customers are able to transition their structured wiring business with minimum inconvenience.

“As we transition the Smart ConnectionCenter to AIN Group, we are confident that our customers will have a seamless transition for their structured wiring purchasing needs,” said Jerry Rose, vice president, product management, GE Security. “GE Security is committed to investing in the latest technologies and enhancing products for our customers. We look forward to continuing our relationship with AIN for our leading product offerings.”

“We are excited about the growth opportunities this provides for AIN, GE and Legrand,” AIN Group president, Stan Matysiak, said. “This agreement reinforces the fact that our AIN dealers will continue to have access to an extensive network of products through our strategic partnerships with leading brands.”

Legrand has committed to leveraging its dealer support and marketing programs for all AIN Group dealers. This includes offering a series of product overview trainings, as well as an extensive selection of marketing materials, to the full AIN network beginning in October.

AIN Group dealers will be able to purchase On-Q products beginning January 1, 2010. The AIN Group will work with GE to streamline the transition, and will enable dealers to continue to purchase the GE Smart Connection Center products through September 30, 2010.
