ProSource Holds Strategic Planning Meetings in Asia

ProSource recently held strategic planning meetings with key audio vendor partners D&M, Harman, Sony, and Yamaha.

ProSource recently held strategic planning meetings with key audio vendor partners D&M, Harman, Sony, and Yamaha. The buying group’s Audio Committee traveled through China and Japan with stops in Shenzhen, China to meet with Harman; Hamamatsu, Japan with Yamaha; Tokyo, Japan with Sony; and Shirakawa, Japan with D&M.

“The results continue to show the value the committee planning approach brings,” said Dave Workman, president and CEO, ProSource. “While the format continues to evolve, we are the only buying group that delivers the priorities that audio vendors need.”

“Our group helps to influence product design through a collaboration with our vendor partners in a dynamic way, together with key subject matter experts,” said Stephanie Keough, chief merchant for World Wide Stereo.

Discussing product roadmaps, drivers for success, and key strategies with audio vendors is not new for ProSource, which has expanded on the committee concept with the addition of the CI committee in 2014 and 2016, the IoT committee.

“We greatly value ProSource’s input on the direction of the North American audio business and appreciate the collaborative nature of our relationship,” said Frank Sterns, Sony’s VP of AV Specialty and Custom Integration. “Working together to define the future audio product roadmap and marketing strategy will pay great dividends.”

ProSource attendees included Workman and Andy Orozco, director of business development, and Scott Zitter, purchasing manager, Expert Warehouse. ProSource members of the Audio Committee include Murray Huppin, Huppins/One Call; Angus Bryan, BrandsMart USA; David Glassman, IQ Home Entertainment; Joe Feregrino, Nebraska Furniture Mart; Leon Temiz, Electronics Expo; Steve Weiner, Listen Up; Stephanie Keough, World Wide Stereo; and Tommy Kinstle and Tim Freeman, Crutchfield.
