QMotion Shading’s Tilt-Out Side Channels Mind the Gap

QMotion Advanced Shading Systems shades already offer the smallest light gap in the industry at only 1/2”—its redesigned tilt-out side channels cover this gap.

When it comes to window coverings, room darkening is serious business. QMotion Advanced Shading Systems shades already offer the smallest light gap in the industry at only 1/2 inch—its redesigned tilt-out side channels cover this gap.

Side channels help block light from entering through the already tiny gap along the sides of the QMotion shades, and the sill angle does the same at the bottom of the lowered shade. QMotion’s new side channels are hinged to tilt out ensuring easy battery replacement within the automated roller shade and improving the room darkening effect by covering the light gap space. Additionally, an integrated stop keeps the roller shade inside the side channels when fully raised.

“For customers needing room darkening conditions like home theaters, bedrooms, or conference rooms, the side channels and sill angles in combination with QMotion blackout fabrics can block nearly all UV light from entering the space,” said Gene Demestre, QMotion vice president of sales and marketing.

Side channels also work with all QMotion’s roller shade offerings, including Qlink and dual shades.

“QMotion continues to lead the industry in developing customer-focused products,” Demestre continued. “Our battery operated shades do not need to be taken down to change the batteries, and the new side channels are specifically designed to work in conjunction with easy battery replacement.”

QMotion tilt-out side channels are available in the standard colors of white, silver, sand, bronze, and black. The side channels incorporate a wool pile for additional effectiveness. Side channels also work with all QMotion’s roller shade offerings, including Qlink and dual shades.
