With its acquisition of Autonomic Controls, SnapAV continued its holiday shopping spree with its second company purchase in less than a month. Autonomic, with its 21-person team in Armonk, NY, offers a line of media servers, multiroom amplifiers, an intuitive app for Apple and Android devices, as well as elegant, designer friendly in-wall keypads.

“We are thrilled to add Autonomic to the SnapAV lineup,” said John Heyman, SnapAV CEO. “This is a company that focuses on the custom channel and has shown continuous expertise in the media streaming category. Autonomic has the right products, people, and culture to make this deal a success for everyone involved, including our dealers.”

Autonomic products are backed by integration with leading control systems, such as Savant, Crestron, Control4, and URC, and incorporate more than a dozen popular music services, including Spotify and Pandora. To provide users with the best audio possible, Autonomic supports full High-resolution Audio (HRA) at 24-bit/192kHz.

Autonomic CEO Michael de Nigris views SnapAV as a like-minded partner with a strong commitment to the custom-install channel. “SnapAV has shaped the industry since their inception, and we believe our unique product offering will be a great addition to their lineup. Our companies are a perfect cultural fit, and because SnapAV is the top supplier in the industry, it helps expand our reach.”

SnapAV has made a series of acquisitions within the last year, which have brought numerous benefits to custom installers. It first acquired industry-leader SunBriteTV last October, and views subsequent SunBriteTV success as a glimpse into the future of Autonomic.

“It’s better to be a SunBriteTV dealer now than before we acquired them. Dealers receive a better product, greater support, and tools that make selling easier,” Heyman continued. “We have the same plans for the Autonomic product line. If you already sell their products, this is a deal you should be excited about. If you don’t sell Autonomic today, you’re going to want to start.”

The company also acquired intelligent surveillance equipment manufacturer Visualint in mid-November, adding the 15-person Florida brand to its lineup.

Autonomic products will be available on the SnapAV website, and with SnapAV’s programs and pricing, starting in January.
