The 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China, have selected Yale Locks & Hardware’s products for use in the athlete housing.

The Youth Olympic Center is a complex specially designed for athletes taking part in the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games, which take place in Nanjing, August 16 to 28. The center includes a residential area with nearly 2,000 apartments covering over 150,000 square meters.

Apartments at the Youth Olympic Center will be equipped with Yale digital door locks (DDLs) from iRevo China and Yale doors from Tianming Door, China-based subsidiaries of Yale parent ASSA ABLOY.

A total of 1,500 sets of Yale DDLs and over 1,900 Yale doors were supplied for the project.

“Yale is a well-known brand suitable for such a global event,” said S.Z. Yin, China central-regional sales manager of iRevo. “Its products have excellent quality that meets the government’s requirements. And the modern design also suits young people’s tastes. Many other brands were eager to secure such an iconic project. However, iRevo and Tianming offered the best cost-effective solution.”

The developer was also satisfied with the products. “The Youth Olympic Center, along with the entire event, has drawn a lot of attention from the government and around the world. That’s why we needed to make sure the products were of high quality, which is what Yale provided,” said Fei-xian Dong, purchasing manager of Nanjing Olympic Sports Construction Development.
