Control4’s wholly owned U.K. subsidiary has acquired UK-based Extra Vegetables.

Extra Vegetables develops integration modules and drivers for Control4 smart home systems. All Extra Vegetables employees will become part of the Control4 team, with the goal of strengthening the company’s smart home interoperability development efforts.

“We are extremely pleased to formally add the expertise and talent of the Extra Vegetables team to Control4,” said Eric Anderson, senior vice president, products for Control4. “It’s an exciting union that accelerates development and time-to-market for the drivers that Control4 Dealers need and want, offers more comprehensive technical support, delivers better functionality, and provides more integration opportunities.”

Control4 will now distribute and provide technical support for more than one hundred Extra Vegetables’ drivers and modules for Control4 systems. This will simplify the process for dealers that manage multiple vendors, licensing and permission models. Support for current and future third-party product drivers will be expanded and serviced by the Control4 tech support team.

“This isn’t just business as usual,” said Jane Scotland, co-founder and COO of Extra Vegetables, who will head the new in-house Control4 Driver Development Team. “It’s business better than usual. We have a unique opportunity to strengthen the Control4 interoperability strategy by providing seamless integration with the products customers and dealers care about—faster and better than ever.”

Control4 dealers can continue to purchase drivers from Bright Sky, Chowmain, Cinegration, Domosapiens and Synapse through the Extra Vegetables website. Effective immediately, sales of all URC modules have been discontinued.
