Core Brands president Bill Pollock announced today at a company meeting that he would be retiring from the company at the end of year. Pollock also announced that Joe Roberts, Core Brands’ vice president of products and marketing, will be promoted to president upon Pollock’s departure.

The company also announced that Dave Keller, senior vice president of sales, will be leaving the company before the end of the year, and that it has eliminated “a small number of full-time positions,” mostly in areas where “system efficiencies have significantly improved in recent months.”
The company is coming off what it considers a very successful showing at CEDIA EXPO, where it introduced multiple new product lines, including long-awaited updates from SpeakerCraft and Niles, as well as hosting a very popular ELAN 25th anniversary booth celebration featuring reality TV star, the Cake Boss.

Pollock has led a combination of Panamax-Furman, then Core Brands for the past 27 years. In announcing his retirement, Pollock said, “After 27 years of service to the custom installation industry, the time has come for me to retire and pass the baton to a new generation of leadership that has dramatically demonstrated its ability to design, engineer, and manufacture the innovative and award-winning CI industry system solutions that will delight our customers for many years to come.”
Pollock said that when he hired Roberts a year ago, he had his retirement succession plan in mind.
“[Roberts] is the architect of our new product roadmap, inspiring our engineering and product development teams to create the products we introduced so successfully at CEDIA 2014,” he stated. “Joe will lead the senior management team that will assure our success for many years to come. I could not be more proud of his accomplishments than I am today. I am leaving the helm in very capable hands.”
