Digital Projection International (DPI) has launched its INSIGHT series of 4K projectors for luxury home entertainment. The INSIGHT series features two products, a high-brightness, laser-illuminated model, INSIGHT 4K LASER, and a REC 2020 color space capable LED model, INSIGHT 4K LED.
Both projectors use DPI’s Lifetime Illumination technology, ensuring the displays are as reliable as they are captivating. The INSIGHT 4K LASER will ship this month, while the INSIGHT 4K LED will be available in Q1 of 2015.
By combining true 4K (4096 x 2160) DLP technology with either the brightness of LASER illumination or the color performance of 3-chip LED illumination, DPI believes that the INSIGHT 4K series projectors set a new standard for stunning entertainment in the home. In addition, both the LASER and LED 4K displays provide stable illumination and remove regular lamp replacement cycles from the ownership experience. By bypassing the ongoing lamp replacements necessary in traditional lamp-based projectors, current INSIGHT series projectors deliver a much lower cost of ownership over the lifetime of the display. The solid-state LED and LASER illumination sources provide cost savings to the end-user and peace of mind for the integrators installing INSIGHT displays in their client’s homes.
The INSIGHT 4K LASER projector was a “Best New Product” finalist at the CEDIA EXPO 2014 in Denver, Colorado. It brings 12,000 lumens through laser-hybrid illumination in a compact chassis to the residential market. Elite home theaters, public entertainment spaces, and outdoor cinemas looking to produce a compelling visual experience now have an ultra-bright projection solution that delivers the stunning detail and image subtlety that only full 4K resolution can provide. Additionally, the INSIGHT 4K LASER’s 20,000 hours+ of illumination life allows the display to deliver bright, color-accurate imagery with minimal required maintenance for years to come. A further benefit to the LASER’s lamp-free illumination means the display can be installed vertically, horizontally, and almost anywhere in between, without degrading the light source lifespan. The INSIGHT 4K LASER produces these many benefits, and yet the chassis is up to 40% smaller than many competing high-brightness 4K displays.
