SVS has formed a partnership with Gramophone to become the newest audio brand available from the award-winning, Maryland-based custom installer.

The manufacturer, which initially sold its subwoofer primarily online, most recently inked a similar deal with Texas-based Bjorn’s.

“Being from the Maryland area, I’ve admired Gramophone’s service and custom installation work for a long time,” said Gary Yacoubian, SVS president. “Gramophone is, without a doubt, one of the top AV companies in the business and their partnership in incredibly valuable to SVS.”

SVS makes subwoofers for a wide range of applications, which is important since Gramophone installs some of the most extreme home theaters in the country. The SVS product line spans extends from the 155 lb, 1,000-watt flagship PB13-Ultra ported subwoofer for large home theaters, to the powerfully compact 13x13x13 SB-1000 tailored for smaller rooms and audio systems. SVS also makes a line of unique, space-saving cylinder subwoofers.

“SVS brings a unique energy to the audio segment, like a throwback to the days when performance was king and the experience mattered most,” said Brian Hudkins, Gramophone president. “With SVS, we know our clients are getting an incredible subwoofer experience and a highly supportive, customer-focused brand to back it up.”

Gramophone is a privately held, family-owned company with more than 40 employees, many of whom have been with the company for over a decade. Today, they provide the highest quality home audio and video equipment, as well as expert design and custom installation services.

Andrew Davis, director of sales and operations for Gramophone, said, “SVS has earned the right to be called one of the great American audio companies and we’re excited to share their passion and bring chest-thumping bass experiences to our customers.”

SVS products are sold internationally, both direct and at retail, depending on regional preferences. The company’s hybrid go-to market approach and unilateral resale policy offer a predictably profitable model that helps raise the average selling price of audio products for dealers with real margins backed by expert service, when it’s needed.
