Crestron LA Showroom Hosts Educational Seminars

By RS Staff March 21,2013

Crestron welcomed southern California interior design professionals and students to its Los Angeles Design Showroom recently in conjunction with the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) Los Angeles and Pasadena chapters. Crestron Los Angeles Design Showroom

The event provided interior designers with an inside look at Crestron Integrated by Design interior technology inclusive of advanced automation and control systems for lighting, window treatments, entertainment, environment, and security, all in a real-life home setting and commercial conference room. A seminar on Design Portfolios was presented by Joanne Maccallum, ASID, CID, IDEC, principal of JM Designs and faculty member at UCLA Extension Interior and Environmental Design Program. The Crestron Design Showroom was one of six showrooms at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, CA, to host educational seminars and networking lunch during the full-day event that involved three presentation rotations.

“This event is a great example of Crestron’s commitment to continuing education,” said Ami Wright, Crestron vertical marketing director. “Whether the topic is about interior technology, general knowledge of interior design, or the business of running a design practice, the focus of our showrooms, experience centers and employees is to be a resource to the design community first and foremost.”

The Crestron Design Showroom offers a setting for guests to get inspired and expand their interior design expertise. Crestron expects more design associations and schools to take advantage of the resource.

“We’ve only been open for seven months and host at least one design event per month,” said Michelle Baker, Crestron L.A. design showroom manager. “The Design Showroom marks an open invitation for guests to schedule group events, private appointments or simply stop by and experience our integrated home technology solutions for themselves.”

“This was my first visit to the Crestron Design Showroom. The layout is very impressive and welcoming,” said Joanne Maccallum. “It's important that clients feel comfortable when learning about all the integrated automation options available. The staff was very informative and they made it easy for me to give my design presentation. Now that I've seen the value the showroom offers, I plan to bring several clients in soon.”

Attendees also received an overview of Crestron’s Interior Design Partner Program, giving qualified designers direct access to Crestron design consultants, a set of state-of-the-art design tools and a host of exclusive benefits.
