DEI Holdings, Inc. has promoted Kevin Duffy to president of Polk Audio and Definitive Technology business units.

Jim Minarik will continue as CEO for both business units, in addition to serving as chairman and CEO of DEI Holdings—parent company to Polk, Definitive, BOOM, and Directed.

In addition, Duffy will continue as president of DEI Holdings.

In making the announcement, Minarik said, “Kevin has been working directly with me and our senior leadership teams at Polk and Definitive making meaningful contributions, including the opening of our new Global Design Center in California, and this promotion is the logical extension of that work.”

Duffy, who has been with DEI for nearly 10 years, held key roles in acquisitions, finance, international operations, marketing, and product development prior to being appointed President of DEI Holdings. Additionally, over the last 12 months, Duffy has spearheaded the re-branding of Polk, Definitive, and BOOM, as well as helped to shape these brands’ upcoming innovations in its product portfolio. He holds a bachelor degree in economics from Princeton University and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Minarik added, “With this promotion, Kevin will be in a position to spend more time and energy driving the continued growth of our core audio businesses, our rapidly expanding sound bar businesses, as well as our major initiatives in personal audio products. Those areas include a wide variety of headphones and wireless speaker solutions at Polk and Definitive as well as at our growing lifestyle personal audio brand, BOOM, which is now rolling out on over 100 college campuses.”
