Mozaex to Supply Media Servers to IMAX Private Theatres

Mozaex has been chosen by IMAX to supply a customized design of the its Mozaex Entertainment Server for use in its new IMAX Private Theatre high-end home theater designs.

Mozaex, the manufacturer of multi-room, multi-media Blu-ray entertainment servers and 7.1 HD Headphones, has been chosen by IMAX to supply a customized design of the its Mozaex Entertainment Server for use in its new IMAX Private Theatre high-end home theater designs.

The IMAX Private Theater program creates a 4K 3D or 2D theater in a home, with 7.1 sound and a wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling screen. The design is based on IMAX’s screening room in Santa Monica, CA, which it uses to screen movies for Hollywood producers and directors.

Mozaex’s server will be designed exclusively to IMAX specifications and will be available only in the IMAX Private Theater.

According to IMAX, each Private Theatre will include the same dual-engine 3D projector the company uses in its commercial cinemas, and the same proprietary audio and video processors. The audio processor includes 850 filter bands per channel, run by patented algorithms. Because commercial cinema speakers are too large for most home theaters, IMAX has designed its own speaker system specifically for home theaters, with the same basic design scaled to work in a smaller volume.

IMAX will work through local custom integrators as it does now with its commercial cinema projects. These integrators will have to go through a full training and approval process, and will be expected to provide the first level of support of the theaters.

Mozaex will be exhibiting at the 2013 CEDIA EXPO, held in Denver from September 26-28 at the Colorado Convention Center, booth 1810.
