Russound’s recently introduced Russound Certified Installer (RCI) Program now has more than 4,000 dealers on board, with a total of 5,000 expected by July 4.

The Russound MCA-88X Multizone Controller.Russound products that are designated “RCI Required” boast a new feature designed to drastically reduce unauthorized online sales of the company’s products, while ensuring that consumers receive the benefits of working with certified installation professionals. The program is open to Russound installers who buy the company’s products through all authorized sales channels, whether it is through a distribution partner or direct dealer.

“As a company, Russound is committed to fighting unauthorized online sales 24/7,” said Charlie Porritt, CEO, Russound. “Our dealers know this from our words and our actions over the years, which is one of the biggest reasons why they are getting behind us by signing up for the Russound Certified Installer program. The overwhelmingly positive reaction to our original announcement will only continue to grow through the rest of the year and into 2016, as new Russound products debut on the market.”

RCI goes into effect with the availability of the company’s new line of multizone controllers (MCA-66, MCA-88, and MCA-88X), in addition to upcoming products as they are introduced. In all cases, the products ship “locked,” requiring a certified Russound installation professional to unlock them via the internet in order to be functional. Products are tracked through unique ID numbers that will be paired with the installers who performed the installations. No customer information is entered or shared as part of the process.
