Gregory Goetz has been has been with Ray Supply for well over 30 years, watching as it transformed from an electronics parts wholesaler to a business that also offered custom integration services. He has been a Russound dealer since 1995.

How do you rate the MDK-C5 Keypad?
A-. As with humans, no product is perfect.  As you know we are heavily focused on the customer experience.  The MDK-C5 keypad is at the heart of why we like the MCA-C5 multi-room audio system. Its iPod-like user interface is easy to use and most of our clients are already accustomed to working with that sort of interface. Combine that with the zone-linking and source assignment features and we believe Russound has a winner in this product offering.

For what types of installations is it best suited?
We utilize this product in any new construction applications in which at least 4 zones of audio are desired.

What is one feature of the MDK-C5 Keypad that stands out in your projects?
Other than the easy-to-use interface we like the zone-linking feature.  It is very handy for larger rooms in which we may utilize multiple pairs of speakers.  It allows us to drive the speakers without the use of an off-board amplifier, which leads to lower cost to our customers and a much cleaner installation.

What features would you like to see changed or added?
We would like to see the product line further enhanced to use wireless technologies to make it better suited for retrofit applications.  It would also be nice to have the keypad enhanced to have an actual static click-wheel similar to the E-series offerings.
