VIZIO, Inc., and Dolby Laboratories, Inc., have released pricing and availability for the VIZIO Reference Series, a complete High Dynamic Range solution with Dolby Vision playback technology.

Offered at an MSRP of $5,999.99 for the 65-inch class model (RS65-B2) and $129,999.99 for the 120-inch class model (RS120-B3), the premium Reference Series collection is equipped with Ultra Color Spectrum for a wider color gamut and a quantum dot panel in the 65-inch class model. The Reference Series features an 800-nit, full-array LED backlight and 384 active LED zones for a vivid Ultra HD picture.

Customers will receive immediate access to certain Warner Bros. Home Entertainment 4K Ultra HD Dolby Vision mastered titles via the VUDU video on-demand streaming service. Additional Dolby Vision titles from other content providers will soon be available through Netflix. Interested consumers can submit their orders now at VIZIO.com and will then be contacted by a local custom installer to arrange delivery and a white-glove setup service.

“VIZIO and Dolby have worked tirelessly together to make true High Dynamic Range a reality for consumers,” said Matt McRae, chief technology officer at VIZIO. “The picture quality achieved with Dolby Vision on the VIZIO Reference Series is literally jaw-dropping and establishes a new level of excellence for the industry.

“High Dynamic Range and Ultra Color Spectrum is enabled through proprietary, custom panel technologies creating a television that pushes the limits of contrast ratios and color gamut while redefining the level of picture quality available at home. VIZIO worked closely with partners like Dolby, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, VUDU, and Netflix to ensure content was re-mastered to take advantage of the Reference Series’ capabilities and ready to stream through VIZIO Internet Apps Plus.”

Dolby Vision playback technology on the Reference Series enables an enhanced viewing experience with increased brightness capacity and color accuracy.

“Dolby advances the science of sight and sound to enable spectacular experiences,” said Kevin Yeaman, president and CEO at Dolby Laboratories. “With VIZIO’s launch of the first TV with Dolby Vision technology, and the commitment of major studios to deliver Dolby Vision content, we are now able to bring a dramatically enhanced visual experience to consumers in the home.”

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has expanded its slate of movies available in Dolby Vision via VUDU on the VIZIO Reference Series. In addition to previously announced content, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment continues its steady pipeline of remastered 4K Ultra HD titles with Dolby Vision to include “San Andreas,” “Mad Max: Fury Road,” “Magic Mike XXL,” “Jupiter Ascending,” “Man of Steel,” “The Great Gatsby,” and more.

“Seeing our great titles remastered in 4K Ultra HD with Dolby Vision is very exciting,” said Jim Wuthrich, President, Americas, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. “With the increased availability and popularity of 4K Ultra HD TV with High Dynamic Range, audiences can experience these extraordinary films in a new, engaging way that is remarkably bright, colorful and true-to-life.”
