Road to CEDIA: After Hours Options Abound at EXPO 2013

As usual, CEDIA and EXPO 2013 exhibitors alike do their best to compete for attendees’ post-show attention. Here are some of the after-hours festivities to round out your busy and productive days on the show floor, September 25-28, in Denver.

Most people go to CEDIA EXPO for its unparalleled networking, technology demonstrations, education, and other assorted business benefits. But at the end of the day, having fun is just as important.

As usual, CEDIA and exhibitors alike do their best to compete for attendees’ post-show attention. Here are some of the after-hours festivities to round out your busy and productive days on the show floor, September 25-28, in Denver.

You never know who you might run into at one of the CEDIA EXPO after-hours parties. It might even be Residential Systems' Derek Dellinger, John Sciacca, and Lindsey Adler.

Wednesday September 25:

HTSA members are invited to a cocktail reception at the Crowne Plaza, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Azione Unlimited members are invited to a cocktail party at Wynkoop Brewing Co., 1634 18th Street, Denver. The party runs 5:00 - 7:00 pm.

Thursday September 26:

SunBriteTV and Soundcast Systems are hosting an open-bar cocktail event after the first day of CEDIA. Enjoy scenic views of downtown Denver from the Hyatt Regency’s fifth floor patio between 6 and 8 p.m. The Hyatt is located across from the Colorado Convention Center (650 15th Street, Denver, Colorado, USA, 80202).

CEDIA’s official EXPO After Hours party has a Casino Royale theme, from 6:30 to 10 p.m. in the Four Seasons Ballroom 2-4 at the Colorado Convention center. CEDIA is giving away prizes to the top three casino chip holders. There will be Texas Hold ’Em tables (prizes for top three tournament players), blackjack, roulette, as well as arcade games at Wii stations, billiards, foosball, and air hockey for those not interested in gambling. Live music from Chase N The Dream will set the party mood for a two and a half hour set.

URC’s 8th Annual CEDIA Party takes place at Lucky Strike Lanes from 6:30 to 9:30pm. The theme is “Bowling, Booze and Billiards,” and the fete is complete with prizes. Stop by booth 1731 to pick up a pass.

The ProSource specialty and CE merchandising group is holding a reception from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Four Square Ballroom at the Curtis hotel.

Lutron’s annual Excellence Awards dinner and awards presentation is at the Four Seasons Hotel, in the Grand Ballroom, less than three blocks from the convention center, from 6:45-9:30pm.

The Crestron Services Provider (CSP) Reception (invitation only) takes place at the Hyatt Regency Denver (across the street from the Colorado Convention Center) Capitol 4 Ballroom, fourth level. The reception runs from 3-5pm, concluding with a cocktail hour from 5-6pm. The reception demonstrates service provider opportunities, where to find them, and how to capitalize on them.

Home automation and control provider TiO is hosting an after-hours event from 6-8 p.m. at the Denver Press Club (1330 Glenarm Place, a short distance from the convention center). Live system demonstrations will be conducted, along with food and drinks. The event takes place Thursday and Friday.

BitWise Controls is hosting a birthday bash at 6:30pm, celebrating five years in the industry. Everyone is welcome to join at Earls Downtown Denver, but attendees must RSVP here.

Friday September 27:

Control4 is celebrating its 10th anniversary, holding its annual Dealer Party at the Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum at 6:30 p.m.

Supply Stream, a new web tool for custom installers and first time CEDIA exhibitor, is throwing a Jamaican-themed beach party from 6:30 to 10pm. Attendees will be shuttled to a secret location on party limos, where they will be greeted with fresh rum punch. The party is just a few blocks away from the convention center. There will be an authentic Jamaican jerk chicken meal, free Red Stripe beer, a live reggae band, and a drawing for two trips to Sandals Jamaica. Attendees should stop by Supply Stream’s booth (3544) to pick up a VIP Passport for admission to the party, as well as priority access and premium beer at the booth Thursday and Friday.

BitWise Controls is hosting a private event at the McKenna Ranch in Sedalia, Colorado. Limo transportation departs the convention center at 4:30pm. There will be an open bar and cook-out, along with live entertainment and games, and a tour of the McKenna homestead. BitWise’s CTO and CEO will be answering questions about the installation, products used, and modules required to complete it. RSVP here.

Saturday, September 28:

The annual CEDIA Electronic Lifestyles Awards Celebration runs from 6:30-11 p.m. at the Centennial Ballroom A-E in the Hyatt Regency Denver. This year’s party has a Roaring ’20s theme.
