Autonomic Controls recently announced its Mirage Media Server, but the Internet cloud technology-based product will make its public debut later this month at CEDIA EXPO.

The Autonomic Mirage Media Server, manufactured by S1Digital, stores its content on a private, secure digital locker on the Internet. This enables the device to automatically synchronize multiple units in remote locations, as well as provide customers with access to their media on virtually any portable or web enabled device.

The server also maintains a local copy of media for reliable, local playback. Content can be uploaded from anywhere and instant access is available with mobile devices (iPhone, iPad, Google Android, Windows Mobile), consumer devices (Nintendo, Wii, Sony Playstation, Tivo), or though home control systems such as Crestron, AMX, RTI and URC.

The Mirage Media Server supports up to five independent audio outputs, including a 5.1 digital output, for playback of different audio streams when connected to a multi-zone audio amplifier. It supports iTunes, Windows Media, FLAC, WAV, and other popular audio formats. Software is available for Macs and PCs to automatically keep customers iTunes and Media Player libraries synchronized with the server and their online storage locker.

In addition to Internet based media storage, The Mirage Media Server can stream content from a number of online sources, such as Sirius/XM, Pandora Radio, and streaming Internet radio stations. More services, like LastFM and Spotify are planned in future firmware upgrades.

Designed specifically for custom installers, the Mirage Media Server offers features such as prebuilt two-way control modules for Crestron, AMX, URC, and RTI. Pre-built touchpanel templates for various panel sizes make integration fast, easy and profitable. The browser based configuration utility allows installers to configure the device, update firmware, monitor diagnostic information and create content schedules from a remote location.

The Mirage Media Server is available now with an MSRP of $3,995.
