CEDIA Offers Hands-On EST Boot Camp and Business Training in East Coast

Indianapolis, IN — Expanding the pool of qualified and trained technicians is imperative to the success of CEDIA member businesses and the electronic systems industry. To support this effort, CEDIA, in partnership with david, llc and Digital Sales Group NY, will deliver eight training events in the new Westbury, New York, training facility beginning in April. Among the events to be offered include CEDIA’s popular Electronic Systems Technician (EST) Basic Residential Boot Camp, business courses, and the Electronic Systems Professional Alliance (ESPA) Certified-EST certification review and exam.

CEDIA’s EST Basic Residential Boot Camp is a comprehensive three-day event designed for technicians with a year or less of experience in the residential electronic systems industry. It combines classroom learning with hands-on exercises that demonstrate the typical tasks and challenges faced during an installation.

Students will have the opportunity to experience the same hands-on training at the Digital Sales Group/david llc facility as they would in CEDIA’s Indianapolis training facility. The Westbury facility will house building structures which are used by students for hands-on activities to learn the basic residential installation skills such as pulling cable, terminating connectors, and installing outlets, boxes, and in-wall speakers. This is the first time since 2002 that electronic systems professionals will have the opportunity to take CEDIA’s EST Basic Residential Boot Camp outside of its Indianapolis Training Facility.

In addition to EST Boot Camp, the Westbury training facility, which is co-located with david at 750 Shames Drive, will provide electronic systems professionals access to extensive product, technical and business management training opportunities. Digital Sales Group/david llc will also host the review and exam for ESPA’s entry-level certification, ESPA Certified-EST®, which helps students understand their level of knowledge and get started on the right career path in the electronic systems industry.

Event and registration information will be available at www.cedia.org/education. Interested individuals may contact CEDIA headquarters at 317.328.4336 for additional information.
