This spring, CEDIA will offer additional opportunities for electronic systems contractors seeking professional growth and ways to improve their business opportunities through new technology and management initiatives.

CEDIA’s Registered Outreach Instructor program enables CEDIA members to offer education to local industry partners, in order to learn about home technology while also earning continuing education credit. To become an ROI, one must be a CEDIA member and pass the “Train the Trainer” course. The next ROI “Train the Trainer” class will take place Tuesday, May 17 at the Lutron Experience Center in Washington, DC.

CEDIA’s ROI courses focus on facilitating successful collaboration between architects, builders, interior designers, and ESCs. Course titles include Hiding Technology, Building Quiet Environments and Lighting Control. Currently, CEDIA is an approved provider of continuing education for eight industry groups, including the American Institute of Architects, the American Society of Interior Designers, and the National Association of Home Builders.

On May 19 at 12:00 p.m. EDT CEDIA will host No-New-Wires Technologies – A Future Brighter Than The Past For Electronics Systems Contractors, a webinar led by Jeff Kussard of Capitol. No-new-wire technologies can support distribution of audio, video, IP networking, security, and home control functions. This webinar will cover using existing wire for new purposes as well as using wireless / RF technologies.

Additionally, CEDIA is offering two networking courses at the MRI Expo in Sturbridge, MA. The 9th Annual MRI Expo will feature an expanded vendor display area, show vehicles, mobile showrooms and dedicated home theaters in addition to the training and educational opportunities.
