Jeff Clemens, whose business grew from selling flat panel televisions into a full-fledge custom integration firm, has been in the industry for eight years. Specializing in providing “affordable, custom solutions” for its customers, Grand Appliance and TV does not consider itself a boutique custom shop, but eschews the “hang-and-bang” service with a well-trained staff that avoids “geek-speak” to better relate to its clients. Clement has been a Crimson dealer for almost a year.

How do you rate the VersaFit?
I rate this product a nine or a ‘10’ because it is a lot more versatile than comparable products out there — most of which either don’t allow for a full range of screen sizes or are cumbersome to install.

For what types of installations is it best suited?
Crimson mounts are ideally suited for a broad range of installations, but especially for Ultra-flat TVs. Customers love the idea of having a super-slim TV-mounted flat against the wall is appealing to most customers. However, ultra-flat installs can be difficult because of the extra depth created by the power cord and AV cables behind the TV. The VersaFit In-Wall Display Mounting Systems allow for completely flat installations of TVs up to 65 inches because bulky cables and power cords are neatly tucked behind the TV in a space provided by the in-wall backbox.

What is one feature of the VersaFit that stands out in your projects?
There are two, actually: uniformity and ease of installation. The VersaFit In-Wall Display Mounting Systems are compatible with multiple Crimson mounts, including articulating, pivoting and ultra-flat mounts and is the only one we know of that has knock-outs for both pre-construction and retrofit applications, meeting all US electrical code guidelines. This is important, as we provide installation services in multiple states and must comply with the codes for each one.

What features would you like to see changed or added?
For our organization, it would be nice to have dedicated models that include articulating mounts. This would eliminate the number of SKUs on an invoice, making it easier on my customers to sort through their order and understand what’s included.
