At CEDIA EXPO, Pakedge Device & Software will introduce its SW240inB 24-Port Power-Over-Ethernet Switch, offering features and flexibility not found in other PoE ethernet switches.

In related news, the company now offers its SW80inB 8-Port Power-Over-Ethernet Switch for installations requiring fewer ports.

The SW240inB is designed to meet the specific needs of custom installation specialists and systems integrators who require an extremely versatile and powerful ethernet switch. One of the most compelling aspects of the SW240inB is that it has a full 24 ports of PoE and each can be individually power cycled. Power to VOIP phones, PoE cameras, access points, etc. can be accessed remotely and cycled for troubleshooting or system health monitoring.

Another key aspect is that the SW240inB can be easily configured using a device such as an Apple iPad, iPhone, keypad, or laptop with its graphical user interface via the web. It can also be configured using a traditional command line interface (CLI) for more sophisticated networks. This makes it easy to set up the SW240inB to perform even complex tasks such as VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network), and QoS (Quality of Service) to ensure maximum performance for a variety of connected devices with different data flow requirements. (Some managed PoE switches have only CLI or GUI capability.)

The SW240inB offers fiber optic uplink ports for stable connection to fiber cable-connected devices even with long-distance cable runs. The SW240inB can also be used as a fiber hub. It even offers gigabit-speed uplink capability to ensure even better data throughput than traditional daisy-chained connections.

It is only one rack space high and all cable connections are made at the rear panel. Blue LED status indicators for each port are located on the unit’s clean, uncluttered front panel. Quiet fan-cooled operation enables the switch to be located virtually anywhere, near audio/video components or as part of a structured wiring panel.

In the near future, the SW240inB will be preconfigured to work with Pakedge routers and access points with no additional programming required – saving the installer time and money.
