Suess Electronics has just celebrated its 60th anniversary, with George Webster entering the industry in 1993 as a retail salesman selling stereos. The company, which has an even split between its retail and custom services, has been a Panamax dealer since the 1990s.
How do you rate the M4315-Pro?
We would rate the product an A. It is unique in the mix of products we offer. The ability to monitor the power status of our clients’ installations and reboot misbehaving products remotely are huge benefits.
For what types of installations is it best suited?
Our goal is to integrate BlueBOLT into as many systems as we can. A particularly memorable situation utilizing BlueBOLT technology occurred a few weeks ago. I have a client with a complex system approximately two driving hours from our facility. Around 8 p.m. on a Sunday evening, my client emailed me with a complaint about some DirecTV channels having a glitch, which made watching TV difficult. From my iPhone (and my couch), I explained to the client that I would reset the system and subsequently rebooted the AV receiver, the DirecTV DVR, and the flat-panel television. A few minutes later the client emailed me back that all was well, and the system was working perfectly again. The instantaneous resolution I was able to provide to my client as well as avoiding a two-hour truck roll at some future date to simply reset the system is priceless. I’m happy, but most importantly, the client is thrilled. Problem solved.
What is one feature of M4315-Pro that stands out in your projects?
The ability to reboot components remotely.
What features would you like to see changed or added?
Although the Web interface works great on mobile phones, it would be cool to see a dedicated BlueBOLT app.
