At CEDIA EXPO 2009, RTI will showcase its new technologies, including two-way compatible, professional-grade control solutions, which offer tight integration with third-party devices for intuitive control.
Using RTI control processors, the latest version of the company’s Integration Designer programming software, and wireless ZigBee technology, RTI’s in-wall and handheld touch screen controllers integrate with not only AV systems but also with lighting, HVAC, media servers, multi-room audio-video, security, and other electronic systems in a home.
RTI’s two-way communication platform includes several new additions to the existing family of control solutions, including new two-way-compatible ZigBee versions of the T2-C, T3-V, and T4 handheld system controllers, which connect to compatible RTI processors using the new ZM-24 transceiver module.
Easy firmware updates add two-way functionality to several existing RTI devices such as the RK3 and K4 in-wall touchpanels and the XP-8 processor, which communicates via two-way RS-232 or IP over Ethernet. Combined with the infrared and relay control capabilities already available, the XP-8 controls virtually any device in the system and receives feedback via pre-built drivers. The metadata is transferred wirelessly from the XP-8 to the ZigBee handheld controllers via the ZM-24 transceiver.
Additionally, RTI has launched the new 7.0 version of its Integration Designer software, available as an upgrade on the company’s website. Integration Designer is a powerful, easy-to-use, Windows-based software package that allows the entire RTI control system family to be programmed from any PC.
RTI has also teamed up with leading AV manufacturers through the Integration Partner Program to supply two-way drivers for simple configuration through drag-and-drop programming, and available drivers currently include support for several products. Dealers can sign up for an RSS feed from the dealer area of RTI’s website to be notified of upcoming releases.
