Initially starting out in the car stereo industry more than three decades ago, Haas Entertainment Systems branched out into the residential side 18 years ago when the company started taking on small home projects. Jeff Haas, who says he takes pride in taking care of his customers, has been a Vutec dealer for 10 years.
How do you rate the Vision X Silverstar?
We rate this product an A. Currently in our showroom, we display a 181-inch (diagonal) seamless Vision X Silverstar 3D-P. This screen is well rounded in displaying an amazing 3D image while still producing a great 2D image. Silver screens that can be used for 2D and 3D are few and Vutec is on the cutting edge of the latest technology. Not to mention, high gain and contrast with great color reproduction. These are very important factors for 3D, and I would say this product is in the top of its class. Additionally, the masking on the screen is one of the best we’ve seen in the industry.
For what types of installations is it best suited?
The Vision X Silverstar 3D-P is best suited for a home theater environment with a 3D projector. Vision X is the premier home theater brand of Vutec and a typical installation consists of a hi-end dedicated custom home theater. I was so impressed I put it in my showroom.
What is one feature of the Vision X SilverStar that stands out in your projects?
The picture quality and brightness of the screen. It definitely speaks for itself. SilverStar 3D-P is a passive 3D screen, but Vutec also offers an active 3D screen called SilverStar 3D-A. I like the fact that Vutec caters to both technologies. Also, the Silverstar screen came fully assembled so all we had to do was pull it out of the crate and mount it on the wall.
What features would you like to see changed or added?
Overall, SilverStar 3D-P is very well built and comprehensive–offering both 2D and 3D video in one screen. To fit even more applications, the only addition I could think of is if SilverStar was also offered in a perforated option.
