Q&A with Jimmy Paschke, director of residential sales, SurgeX.
Why CEDIA?
As an organization, CEDIA has been making great strides toward making membership a major differentiator and a competitive edge within the industry. Each year, the conversations and interactions we have at the show are among the best we experience — the entire SurgeX team is excited and proud to attend the Expo this year and get back into the swing of connecting with our customers, partners, and supporting the best tradeshow event of the year.
What is the most exciting trend you expect to see at the show?
Lighting and shading control has seemingly dominated the spotlight for the past several shows. Post Covid-19, both well-being and network security have been popular topics and the subject of many conversations with installers and partners. With an emphasis on networking born out of the pandemic, the SurgeX team also suspects energy storage and power management of larger-scale projects will be an exciting trend to keep an eye on — as power is the unifying force through which all installed projects are made possible.
What will you focus on at the show?
Within the SurgeX booth, attendees can expect to experience our all-encompassing product line, specifically when it comes to UPS solutions. At the show, SurgeX will be discussing and demonstrating the value and importance of a solid power foundation within AV and IT system installations as we show off our line of UPS solutions — both large and small. Compact power solutions will also be a primary focus, as the award-winning Squid power management system will be on-hand at CEDIA Expo and on display in-person for the first time since shipping globally. Finally, we will of course provide demonstrations where we fry some components as we showcase the difference between surge elimination technology and sacrificial power protection.
