#CEDIAShares: Control4

Control4 shares why CEDIA is always home to biggest product debuts.

In our series of #CEDIAShares blogs, we’re talking with exhibitors about the hottest technologies and trends they’re looking to see at CEDIA 2018.

Q&A with Brad Hintze, Senior Director of Product Marketing, Control4

Q: Why CEDIA?

Each year, the Control4 team looks forward to CEDIA. It’s always an opportunity to connect with our dealers and showcase our new products and integrations. As the hub of the custom installation industry, it has also proven to be the right stage for us to unveil our new products, software, and dealer programs that will enhance the Control4 Smart Home. A lot goes into our participation at CEDIA: we provide trainings, participate in industry panels, have a growing booth space, and celebrate with our dealers at our annual party. We support a growing ecosystem of devices that work in the Control4 Smart Home, nearly 12,000 now, and we can take time to connect with our many partners who attend the show.

Q: What is the most exciting trend you expect to see at the show?

We’re always expanding our product and software portfolio to support existing smart homes, and to create new opportunities for our dealers. Some of the key areas where we focus this expansion are in the audio category, as we have consistently released new speaker and audio products from the Triad brand, new lighting solutions, software, and Pakedge networking to support the growing ecosystem of smart home devices. Alongside our product portfolio, we continuously expand our offerings and support for our dealers—as evidenced by the new Certified Showroom program—and we see this as a blossoming trend in the industry.

Q: What will you focus on at the show?

CEDIA is always home to our biggest product debuts. In the past, we’ve announced our Alexa Smart Home Skill, When>>Then Automation, the Triad One, and the Pakedge Certified Network Administrator training program. We have some new updates on the way this year that will further enhance current and future Control4 Smart Homes. Also, dealers will be able to see the CA-1 controller for the first time at CEDIA—it debuted earlier this year—as an option to provide smart homes for homeowners focused on control, convenience, comfort, and security. Following our reputation for sharing new things at the show, stay tuned for what’s next from us at CEDIA!
