As unbelievable as it may seem, Snap One has not exhibited at a CEDIA Expo before. Sure, Snap AV was a regular sight in a massive booth each year, but, since the company changed its name in 2021, there hadn’t been an opportunity to present its new branding and focus to dealers at an Expo. And even beyond the name change, Snap One has become a very different company over the past three years.
“In 2019, the Control4 and Snap AV merger had just happened,” says Kordon Vaughn, VP marketing, campaigns & creative, Snap One. “As a company, we were just getting started in our Local distribution strategy — we had just acquired Volutone at that point. By the end of this year, we’re going to have close to 40 Local stores around the country. We’ll have a Local team inside the booth. And we’ve spent about $200 million on new product development in those three years.”
At CEDIA 2022, Snap One will debut several next-generation product lines from Control4, Episode, Luma, Araknis, and Access Networks — in addition to showcasing recently released solutions like the Control4 CORE Controllers, SunBrite Veranda 3 outdoor television, Triad PDX speaker series, and WattBox 800 Series power products.
Snap One will also be hosting a number of technical training sessions throughout the event. “Attendees could spend their whole time in sessions with us,” says Vaughn. “We’ve got 16 classes that we’re going to teach over two days covering a wide area of interest. Mastering the variables around wireless networking continues to be challenging for some, and we’ve got some great networking classes. Other topics include how to make security more than just cameras; how to build awesome home theater designs; and how to leverage remote management.
“We’ve also got some great outdoor products that we’ve released in the last year and some more that we’re going to release here. If you’re interested in expanding your business or growing what you’re doing in the outdoors to do more for your customers, we’ve got some interesting products and sessions you ought to attend as well.”
Vaughn is excited to be back at CEDIA Expo and meet Snap One dealers and those that may want to become dealers. “This is the perfect time to meet with integrators and to show them our new products,” he says. “We can also talk about the challenges that they’re facing and get feedback from them. Snap’s always been known for our people inside the booth with their notebooks, taking notes and just trying to strengthen those dealer relationships and figure out what problems are out there that we can try to solve.”
